There is always a downside to fame. People start criticizing you, sniping at you, trying to trip you up, belittle you and harass you.

I am much attracted by Simon Cowell. Amanda is pretty, too. He is a Star himself. But, but, who could be able to stand his results. He insults best. WOW!

Lunch with Melody, a beautiful & pleasant lawyer.

Min tel to inform me about her very satisfactory performance today in her Business paper. I have to hear her cry at 4 am about the Statistics and hear her overyjoy at 8:45 pm. So enriched is a Mom's programme for a day. I am pleased, anyway, to be wanted. I am the person whom she turns to no matter for laughters or tears. An honour.

Sleepy. The works of the day have been smooth. Hurray! Celebrate common things, small things and even "could be worse" things. That is how we live with comfort & ease everyday.

Dinner - Nita cooked the roast duck in big pieces. They were supposed to be shreds with vermicelli. She will try again tomorrow.

The examination system is a cannot-do-without for screening people, rating people and grouping people.

It is a great hurdle for most of us in life.

Had a relaxing and enjoying morning. Van boiled some dumplings for lunch. Anis smiles often.

The wedding party was held in Yau Yat Tsuen Club. Chris is the baby-faced handsome bridegroom. I still remember he was very cute when he was small.

A Flea in Her Ear

Brisk walk in Sai Tso Wan in the morning after breakfast.

Went to Chinese doctor about noon and had lunch with Phoebe - moon goddess.

We went to City Hall to see the play "A Flea in Her Ear" by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre. All these artists must be very dedicated folks.

Dinner at home by myself. AVA have gone to Irene's place.

Pingpong at Victoria Park. Lunch at TST with Paus. Jap.

Relaxation in the afternoon.

Chatted with Min over Skype in the evening and at night. She sent along an ecard. Sweet.

Dinner at Kowloon Bay with the Leungs and AVA. Gungung ordered lots of food. We had to pack the leftover in several boxes. Different values. Always.

Finished seeing the movie "Guess who is coming to Dinner?" Love not planned. It could happen like a flash. Difficult situation. Some are lucky enough to overcome. Some are not. Some give up. Some change. Some sustain.

mother's day part I

The new TV was delivered and installed around noon. A great enjoyment.

Dinner at S's. J cooked mussels with wine sauce and pan-fried salmon. A cooked ravioli and rib eye with rocket + blue cheese sauce.

Irene said, "Children cook. We sit back & relax." In any event, she prepared some nachos with avocado dip and salsa for Cat & me. Cat will return to Toronto on Wednesday.

I brought along a bottle of fine champagne and Jo opened a bottle of red wine.

scrambled eggs on toast

The best I have ever had, with soup of mushroom, cucumbers salad & pork sausages & coffee. The scrambled eggs were creamy in both texture and smell. Fresh mushrooms added to the canned soup. Cucumbers seasoned with sesame oil & black pepper. Big fat pork sausages were parboiled before frying. Yummy!

good music is almost next to heaven

Music is an essential element of religions.

Dinner with Mrs Li, Ber, Anne & Alice at Festival Walk. Old pals are lovable people you rely on for comfort & encouragement, sharing joy & sorrow. We are never jealous of each other and we are always happy together. Grace was suffering from flu & Christina was engaged in meetings and they could not join.

A Scotch egg

A Sctoch egg is a traditional UK snack. It consists
of a hard-boiled egg removed from its eggshell, chilled, wrapped in a sausage meat mixture, coated in breadcrumbs & deep-fried. Scotch eggs are commonly eaten cold, typically with salad & pickles. Picnic food & homemade. Pre-packed & plastic wrapped & available in supermarkets & convenience stores & motorway service stations. US - usually served hot & with dipping sauces like mustard in English-style pubs.

Talked to Lorraine last night. She is my loving sister, forever supportive. We share all joy and worries, responsibilities & goodies in life. She encouraged me to remain lovable, healthy, trendy & smart. We have concerns about Marga's tension. She thinks any elements leading to my happiness are worthy pursuing. God, if I grumble from time to time, let me be reminded of all the sweet & caring people around me.

Nice weather. Took a walk at the Peak with AVA. Dinner at the Sims. Catherine from Toronto was there. We had an interesting talk about retirement life. She would go to Shangri-la Hotel to join her best friend.
