What an encounter with a cab driver. Another real life example of the Murphy's Laws that whatever can go wrong will go wrong.

An order for cab. Resulted in 2 cabs coming up. One driver was fierce and would not give up. At last, I quitted even the first one upon the driver's suggestion.

Hi Sweetie,

Your Mom told me that you climbed up a chair to avoid a robbery and fell down and suffered some bruises on the face. A boy pushed you yesterday and today.

Poor Baby. Your Grandma is sharing the same experiences in the office. Some guys always want to snatch the toys or cookies in our hands. We are tossed from time to time for no good reasons known. The teachers may not notice or they do not care. Some wicked guys take pleasure in watching us fall or get bruises. Some pretend they do not see. Some broadcast any bad news immediately once they find it. Or tell others all news in a manner that the news must become bad.

You need to learn to survive. However, I prefer you would survive with grace & calmness. Accept the rules of the jungle without turning into a snake, a fox or a swine.

PS Your Yeeyee's teddy bear has been sent by air parcel. There is a risk of its being rejected as one of its hands has an inbuilt battery enabling it to say "I love u". The battery may be considered as dangerous and forbidden. Keep our fingers crossed.

CHIJMES is a historic building complex in Singapore, which began life as a Catholic Convent known as the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus. The complex is located in the Downtown Core within the Central Area, Singapore's central business district.

Raffles Hotel which is a graceful landmark immortalized by Somerset Maugham and Rudyard Kipling is just next to it.

After breakfast at the hotel, I had the morning walk by myself to the Boat Quay via the Bank District starting with Maybank. I had a shampoo & a hair trimming. Lunch at Sushi Tei at Ngee Ann City. Later Lorraine drove us to Changi Airport. She will go to a Ball this evening at the Fullerton.

Home sweet home! Freezing cold HK.

5 days tour ends today

Time flies. Happy hours run fast.

We had dinner at Lorraine's home for Tuesday. We enjoyed the CHOYA plum wine with royal honey which I bought at the Changi Airport

Wednesday: I took another morning walk along Evelyn Road and reached Novena Square via the Revenue House. I bought 2 cans of abalone from the Cold Storage as there was a gift item of a china soup pot - good for the Lunar New Year. Lunch at Lei Garden at Chijmes - opposite the Raffles. A Jim Thompson shop is there. Dinner - Long Beach Restaurant at Dempsey. There were blue & white bulbs hanging on the trees outside. Min thought of AVATAR. The Sri Lanka Crab with white pepper, lala fried ho fun ....

Thursday: breakfast at the Fullerton Hotel. Yantra Indian cuisine at the Tanling Mall. Authentic Indian food. Dinner at Newton Circus.

Min bought a pair of sandals and a dress. Me a top of Indian cotton with some embroidery - white base with some pale blue flowers.

We went to the Marina Bay - Sands Casino. Admission for 21 years old or above. S$100 admission fee for Singaporean citizens. I went in browsing for a while without placing even one dollar on the gambling desks. We bought 2 dozens of nutmeg ointment from Chinatown. We had desserts there after dinner last night. Snow ice - a smoothie version of ice kachang.

The 2 boys have grown up intelligent and each has his own interest. Very pleasant companions.

HK is cold - about 10 degrees celsius.

Singapore

I ran into Mrs Tong in the airport. We have not met each other for over 10 years. Never expected to encounter a very impolite taxi driver. Extremely rare in this country famous for cleanliness and courtesy. However, I remained quite calm. Why should a sick man affect my mood? Not interested to talk to him.

Today, I took a walk by myself in the morning. I bought coffee, fruits & chocolates from Cold Storage near Chancery Lane. Sushi Tei for lunch at Paragon. Tea at ION - TWG. Apricot, Cinnamon & Caramel tea. Scones with fresh cream & tea jelly, finger sandwiches with smoked salmon, cucumber & asparagus. Macaroons - rose, mint & earl grey. Shopping around at Ngee Ann City, Orchard Road.

I have seen some YouTube videos about hoarders. Compulsive storage of junk. Life buried. Living in filthy houses and breaking up relationship.

Anis b can eventually attend school bravely. She bid good-bye to her Mom without tears, knowing that Mom would fetch her after school.

I gave Min her birthday gift on the plane. Georg Jensen sterling silver necklace with a pendant - 2011 limited edition. Memorable.
