Friday - I went to UCH by myself. Same doctor as last year. He counselled me to be optimistic. Almost a clean bill for my conditions. Then blood-taking.

Dined at home alone. Talked to Min over Skype. She sounds sweet. Pam promised to buy a blanket & a pillow for her & send them over on Monday in the afternoon. From Maidstone.

Will work in the morning today. Lunch with A, Van & Paus. Then mj at Christina's home until after dinner.

Sunday pingpong

Pedicure in the morning. Pingpong with Marga 1-3 pm. We had plain congee & dough & vermicellie rolls with dried shrimps. Went to a boutique after that. Flora & Ah Yee are just like friends.

Dinner at Porpor's home.

Gungung has come home. He is a survivor.

Jeffrey's 10th birthday on 22/9.

Patrick's birthday on 23/9. See if we can celebrate before or after. They will go to Hokkaido.

Marga will fly to Nagoya & Osaka with Pau tomorrow morning.

Min talked to Grandpa & Grandma. She is now going to Maidstone with Mrs Presland & 4 others from the Orchard House.

Friday - lunch at IC mess with Vanso, Melody & Elaine.
Dineer - a new place - Kamboat, Agnes hoted, with YM & Patrick.
A break after a busy day. Both Tam & Patrick will go to Hokkaido with their wives. James, Agnes & Tam had go to live in the Venetians with their respective companies. I am much tempted.

Sat - went to APM to buy a suit from Cour Carre for Min. She fell and had her knees injured, causing a big hole in her trousers. A drove Van & me to Sai Kung - Hebe one o one. Western style, previously it was Portuguese. Walked along the pier and went home. They played tennis.

Seems jetlag not yet all over. A bit tired.

Communicated with Wenxi by MSN & Min with Skype, SMS & IDD. She
is progressing quite well. She went to Ashford last weekend & would go to Maidstone this week. She had registered with the Kent Police. Mrs James the Matron drove her there & paid on her behalf. She had watched rugby which she described as a violent game. Real exposure. Within a week, she has experienced so many new people & events. She has met a Taiwanese guy who speaks Mandarin. She was glad to have received the air parcel I sent to her on Monday.

I made efforts to get up early. Tried hard to kick away jetlag. Good to start the day by receiving a chrystal clock from Yiu in Canada. He refused to disclose how he could have arranged it to be sent on my desk upon my return.

I wonder how I should deal with it when the battery runs out.

Bought some shortbread & choco for the folks.

Roger treated us with lunch. 4 tables of staff. Back to work really.

I wore the "Black Gold Lady" top just bought yesterday, with black pants. Felt good in it.

Mr Dorey wrote to me that Min has a positive & committed start & seems enjoying the school life there. I am glad.

It would be nice to take one month off every year. I will try to aim at that.

We had dinner a APM on Thursday evening. I had chicken congee at home for Friday lunch. We went to Xiao Nan Guo in TST East for dinner. Kevin got 1 suit + 3 shirts tailor made in Granville Road.

Sat - went to Dr Tong for wax to be sent to Min. Lunch at Good Luck at Empire Centre. Shopping with Lorraine at Pacific Place & Sogo. She bought a wallet made of ostrich skin - cognac colour. She also bought me a Cole Hann coin purse - brown leather - very cute with zipper. We had dinner at my home with Porpor & A & Van. She also bought 2 tees from North Point Mrs Chan. Talked to Ella on phone.

Will go to work on Monday. Talked to Agnes, Judy, KH, Ken & Roger. Roger will treat staff in Asiania Rest in Wanchai on Monday for 4 tables. I am on the list. So they told me not to have appointment with others.

I am not very sure whether I can pick up the work smoothly.

Glad to have received Min's sms. Seems to be settling down quite well. Hope to receive emails from her next week when her laptop would be available & set up.

Colour Treatment in Sea Wave, Telford Gardens. George said I have maintained myself so well. I still look young with lots of fine hair. Is that why so many rich women fall for their hair stylists? I really enjoy hearing him saying all those. When I grumbled about my white hairs, he said it is just normal to be with diligents students & high-ranking executives. He believed I have been both, so there come my white hairs. However, he comforted me that that would not be a problem. He chose chestnut bornw for me. He said that it was so appropriate for me.

Had lunch with Porpor, Jason & Nita at 8 Happiness, Kai Tin.

Still busy with last minute checking of everything.

Gungung & Porpor gave red packets to Min.

I will be missing those whom I love so dearly in HK while I am away. Likewise, I will be missing Min while she stays in UK.

Porpor told me a man committed suicide in their block due to vigorous quarrels amongst wife, girl friend & himself.

Went to Dr Lee in the morning of Thursday. Would have the test results by Saturday morning. Mrs Lee talked to me about the experience of sending her daughter to study abroad. Keep my fingers crossed for good health.

Thursday lunch with Christina at Vietnamese Restaurant, Hang Fa Chuen. She gave Min a blue bathing robe. But I am not sure whether there is any more room for it. Have to be very selective.

Pam Stevens tel me yesterday evening. She spoke very good English. Polite, concise & nice to the ears. I made some notes from the websites re Bethany School, Thistle Piccadilly Hotel (london) & Star and Eagle Hotel (Goudhurst).

Today, we collected the shortened grey striped trousers from Cour Carre.

We saw the movie "Evan Almighty" at AMC, Pacific Place. Morgan Freeman to be God again. Tom Hanks joined in the production. No more Jim Carrey as in the last movie.

Visited Gungung in Kowloon Hospital. Min & he love each other so much. They shook hands. Gungung told her to be careful with passport, money & check books etc. Told her to study hard & listen to Mom.

Then, Paus & A - 7 of us - dined at Shanghai Garden Restaurant, Hutchison House. Marga footed the bill as a farewell party. We were so excited about Wenbang's driving licence of tanks. Met Mike Chiu.

Wednesday

Min had been lucky to have a treat in the Marriott Hotel for lunch buffet. She took the salad. She also received a red packet.

We then bought shoes from Nine West. We had a bun in Shake'em Buns in Causeway Bay. We shared a Hwaiian Sufer Girl Bun. She had Coke & I had raspberry drink. The customers were model-looking young guys. 2 foreginers seemed to be Italians. They were so tall, dark & handsome.

Then, we got some clothing items from Courr Carre, APM. A pr of grey pants were still too long after alteration. Would collect it on Friday after further shortening.

Too many things to be packed. Must be very selective.

Lei Garden APM & Lippo

Lunch with Porpor at APM. It does not happen very often as Gungung & the children need her care & I used to go to work on Mondays. Seldom can we 2 have a quiet time enjoying tea & dimsum. She likes the new handbag bought by Mayee.

I went back to the office yesterday afternoon. Then, we went to Lippo for dinner - 8 of us. Min received a red packet of 5 GBP & a green Cross ballpen with her name engraved thereon.

Michael Suen & his wife were at a table nearby with a few friends. One girl & one young man played Chinese musical instruments. A nice setting. Very few tables. Wondered how they survived.

I was told that KM also joined the Wanchai regular lunch on last Wednesday. Edmund said that retirement life was so boring. He was keen to take up any job. However, it would not be easy to have offers.

James had just come back from Taiwan with family for a short weekend trip. He does not like the new boss very much.

Oatmeal as breakfast. Then, I bought a variety of buns for Gungung including custard tarts. Headed for Kowloon Hospital. He picked the cocktail bun & the sausage bun. He needed our companionship despite he often said "no need to come so often as you are all busy". He had problems with his breath.

PingPong with Coach Wu. I did not know how lucky I was that I could play pingpong in the recreation room after work until now.

Shampoo & set in Mongkok. Very hot, dusty, noisy & polluted air. Unbearable spot to stay.

Had some Jap food in Telford with Min. Reserved a pr of black shoes from Marks & Spencer. I bought a pink wind breaker & we bought some books.

Dined at Porpor's place.

Cour Carre & Adidas

For Min - 2 suits with pants & a suit with skirt, 3 white shirts & 1 striped shirt from Cour Carre. A track suit from Adidas - tee + pants + jacket. APM. Charcoal, dark blue & dark grey. Suitable shoes not yet found.

Tennis from 4-5 pm. Min felt uncomfortable & stopped at 4:45 pm.

Van & A dined out for Korean food. Min had garoupa rice + cabbages. I had steamed eggplant & charsiu.

Min slept early. I start to feel missing her & a bit confused. Best wishes for her future. Lots of worries & uncertainties. Heavy responsibilities.

Talked to W Sung. He is improving. The operation has been successful.

Terrible expenditure.

Pa is not feeling well. Perhaps I should go to see him tomorrow.

Concert (Yip Chun-tong)

In the morning, I went to Taliana for shampoo & pedicure. Then lunch with Grace at Lippo. Anne was the Queen of tuition. She charged $1,000 per session per student. Ber's girl attended the class once or twice every week for the whole school year. She attained grade A in English language. Hence Ber thought Anne was worth it. Her income from tuition must be great. Much more than that of her income as a teacher. Tax-free?

Brought Min to see Dr Lai Ming-yuet for her tummy ache. Problems with gastric inflammation. $200. Yesterday, I got the herbal tea for $160. A bit anxious that we must all board the plane healthy & pretty.

Dinner at Wu Kong Shanghai Restaurant at Peking Road with Porpor + Mayee. Then, we went to the concert at HK Cultural Centre. Marga joined us after work. Very entertaining - Yu On-on, Eliza Chan & a man whose name I cannot remember, But I like his voice.

How could I gather myself back to work after one month's rest?

I enjoy being pampered. Whatever I say, I do, I encounter ....... I am forever supported. That is so nice a life experience.

Received 4 x $50 ParknShop cash coupons from HK Bank. Spent them on vege/fruit, canned food & household stuff.

Mike got one day compensation leave. I asked him to drive me, Porpor & Jason to Megabox to have lunch. We went to Megared Chiu Chow Restaurant. Dimsum & congee & desserts. $320.00. Reasonable. New place. Good service, 2 hrs free parking & special renovation.

Porpor seemed enjoying the tea. She visited Gungung with congee.

Bought a tee-shirt again in Admiralty. I suspect I am a shoppaholic.

Dined at home with Min. Van is out.

Wenbang has got his driving licence for tanks. How wonderful!

Wenxi is always caring & is concerned about my coughing. I am pleased.

Louisa will fly on 14 August, so the dinner party supposed to be held on Friday 10 due to typhoon could not be re-arranged. Moral: something or someone missed will never return.

Visited Gungung at noon, Marga bought him a box of curry beef brisket rice, me an Apple Daily. He seemed better.

Had tea by myself at Queen's Cafe at Festival Walk, then brought home spaghetti with tomatoes/beef slices for Min. Dinner at KT with Porpor, 2 girls, A & Marga.

Peggy bought some jewellery from Landmark Larry. A diamond cross pendant, a ruby pendant, a sapphire pendant & a diamond ring. She has no children & a fat pension + a husband of handsome income.

However, I prefer my 2 girls to her jewellery. To have some jewellery is a joy, though.

I pray for health & peace of mind.

Ratatouille

Disney Pixar never fails. It is about French fine dining. The rat. Like Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse, it is so cute & clever.

Watched the movie with Min at APM Palace. Bought 5 books for leisure reading. Min likes reading. We did not buy doughnuts although we visited Krispy Kreme. Not everyday.

Facial at Stella's. She told me about her 3 children. Another great mother.

Dinner - congee with pork ribs + mushrooms. A's Mom gave me some parma ham & some yau-gum-jee.

I bought a pr of dark blue jeans (made in Japan) in the arcade - I wore it immediately today. I enjoy shopping so much that I must work to maintain such hobbies.

the Simpsons

Yesterday morning, I brought Min to Dentist Philip. Then we had lunch at Festival Walk - Jap set. We then saw the movie "The Simpsons". Very amusing. I never knew about the Simpsons before. Nice to have children. They broaden our horizon. Afterwards, we went to Kowloon Hospital to visit Gungung. He wanted to have some bread with jam for night snacks. I went to Prince Edward Road to buy such in 2 shops. No supermarket nearby & no supply in the convenience shop in hospital.

Today, I should have gone to a movie at around 4 pm & a farewell dinner re Louisa. The typhoon signal no 8 hoisted at 2:30 pm spoilt everything. Eventually, I went to ParknShop to buy a garoupa & 2 pcs of rib eyes & some big button mushrooms for dinner. The soup is tomatoes, potatoes + minced pork.

Van & A dined at home with Min & me. They bought 6 doughnuts from Krispy Kreme at APM.

xiao nan guo - times square

Had my hair permed & trimmed at Charisma. Rosana, Chu & Ber all asked about Min's results.

I had dinner with the 2 girls. Van & I advised Min to treasure the opportunity & catch up with her study in UK aiming at admission into a U of good standard. She promised.

Ma Lik had died. A shock & a distress for me. He suffered from colon cancer in 2004 & died at the age of 55. I was impressed by his liberal thoughts as a leader in his camp.

Pa seems alright for the time being. Porpor visited him in Kowloon Hospital. Marga got her chin hurt 2 days ago. Poor girl. ChingYee suffered from breast cancer. So many cases.

before vacation commences

Accompanied new boss to Eastern yesterday morning. Very busy to do last minute handover. Agnes bought Min 2 pc of soap from Lush. Rosana called also. They are all very kind to her. Bid Anita farewell. Porpor sent along double-boiled chuenpei. My coughing is getting better. Much better than before. I need a break. Roger will tour in Spain & Portugal with family.

Kwongloi is wonderful pal. He knows about a lot of things. He is interesting & considerate.

Went with Min to her school to collect results. More or less expected marks. As usual, some had been assessed to be higher. Feeling more settled. I have made the right choice of arranging her to study abroad.

Breakfast with her in McCafe. Very expensive coffee & sandwich + cold drink.

Van will have dinner with us this evening at Causeway Bay.

Gungung transferred to Kowloon Hospital. His heart seems to be requiring medical attention.

Pleasure to watch the 2 girls playing tennis in the Saturday afternoon. Went to Flora & Ah Yee. Sago tea.

Bought a hair dryer and an electrical water boiler for Min to be used in UK.

Woke up at 10 am. Went to CCC at 11:10 to meet Helen, Kingsui & Christina.

Played mj & won $360. Christina gave Min a thermo cup & a shawl from Aigle. Helen paid for the water boiler.

KT & Marga, Kevin & Min went to Kln City to have hotpot.

Feel better now. Less coughing.

Friday dinner at Nan Guo, still coughing

9 out of 10 who have been promoted hosted the dinner. Next to Sogo. Very small place. Crowded. Food was OK but really congested.

Won $160. Very rare result. Happy about that.

Judy is kind to me. We had lunch at Jiang Shan Xiao. Beef slices & fried noodles with fish.

Coughing is killing me. Luckily I can have 2 days' rest. Will go to play mj in 3C tomorrow with Helen, Kingsui & Christina.

2 more days to work before my vacation for one month during the 4 years.

It seems I have been passing germs onto the 2 girls. When can I get well?

Time flies. It has been a week since I brought Min to Dr Tong & dined with Ella + Kam.

Could not sleep. No effect - both western medicine & Chinese herb tea. Took one day sick leave today.

The throat is sore.

The girls know about the HK Monetary Authority & the 3-tiers banking system: licensed bank, restricted licensed bank & deposit-taking company. Glad that they know quite a lot. They somewhat laughed at me. They are pleased to find that their Mom is but a Mom who only chases them for homework, tidiness & food + clothings. She does not know everything in the world.

Van goes to work today. Min is still sleeping. It is rare that I am staying in the flat reading newspaper & sitting before the computer at this time on weekdays.

I must enjoy the quiet & the leisure.

Coughing is really annoying. People in the MTR give me unpleasant facial expressions. I could not sleep well. Very distressing at work.

WY Chu treated us to Lippo for lunch as he has made quite a handsome profit from stock market. $0.3 becomes $1.4 per share. Wow! I never have such luck.

The new boss looks very much like another who has left 2 years ago. Voice, gesture, tone & build.

The blouse is beige lace and the skirt brownish gypsy style. Told that it would not be right for formal meetings.

Tuesday, pm off. Number 1 Harbour Road, Grand Hyatt Hotel. Anne was the hostess. Grace declined as she was fed up with Anne & Ber. Ber suddenly failed to turn up as her father fell sick. Only Bette Li, Christina, Anne & I. Anne kept on talking about dramatic events & sounded very boastful. She saide she dialled 999 as her husband did not come home after 9:30 pm. After she reported to the police, he tel. & said he had dinner with a friend. She asked the police to break into his office as she suspected him to have fainted. Govt offices had no more air-con after 6 pm. Since he suffers from respiratory illness, he must have blacked out due to over work.

She said her husband & she were planning to buy a house near Stanford for her daughter who is 11 years now to study there in the future. Or Yale.

Christina & I thought we were doing charity by listening to her.

Before we said good-bye, Anne said she would treat us to Four Seasons next time. She said her tuition was $1,000 per hour. She could well afford it. But I am wondering whether I will go again. Perhaps Grace is wise.

Chrsitina & I went to buy some tees from Mrs Chan, North Point. Then we went to have facial in Physical, Causeway Bay. Relaxing.

Dined at home with Van & A. A sweet home I have.

Min had made a cake last night. Strawberries, heart-shaped with choco on top. I love her & so the cake.

Today I saw 2 handbags in Furla - 1/2 price. But they were display items.

Kevin is Singapore. Did not go to Porpor's home for dinner cos Aunt has her birthday party in the restaurant. Gungung is still in Haven of Hope.

Wednesday lunch at the Golden Leaf at Conrad Hotel with the bosses. Van & A dined at home. Min was out. Porpor came. I brought her to Stella. She bought us some grass jelly.

Today lunch at Man Ho with Judy, Joanna & YF. 1 meeting from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Another from 4 pm to 6 pm. Glad that my works have been well done and appreciated.

Van came home just now, not yet taken meal. She & A plan to go to Hainan Island.

Wenxi wrote me an email. I love him for his kindness and care for me.

Dined with Van at ManHo. Met A's mother with her friend. A very modern lady, polite & young looking.

Van has to go to Shenzhen tomorrow visiting some factories. Will come back in the evening.

Had lunch with Min at Golden Bull, Times Square. Then she went to French lesson at Wanchai. I went to bank to do some business. Persuaded to join a life ins/savings plan. I gave them information. I doubt whether my application would be successful due to my illness in 04.
Could not find Sonia. So went to Taliana for a hair cut. Have known David for more than 30 years. His staff on the Men's also know me. How much do they know about me?
Bought some food from Sheung Yu's.
Min has to select activities - one on Tuseday, one on Thursday & one on Friday.
Will arrange for an UK account for Min on Wednesday.
I must remain healthy enough for these 5 years to ensure her a good support for her education. Education is the best gift I could ever offer to the girls.
See if Florence will bring me to the boutique to buy clothes tomorrow.
King seems to know everything, including clay pigeon shooting, pilates & lacrosse ....... So interesting .........

Went to see "Wonder Women" at Times Square UA by myself this morning. I got to get used to it. I went to Ho Hung Kee & ate a bowl of beef brisket/wonton noodles. Very expensive $37-.

Joined Marga to play pingpong in Mongkok USD gym centre at Fife St. The female coach was surnamed Wu. Marga could play quite well.

Marga bought a necklace with a diamond pendant of 3 curves like water waves. Another diamond heart pendant with a longer necklace. Very pretty. The salesman showed me some Estrella items.

I visited GPO in Friday afternoon and went to the Peak for dinner. Very enriching.

This morning, I brought Min to Dr Tong. Paid $1,000 for the 3rd time. So $23,000 already. Next appt on 28 July & next on 24 August.

We walked to PP3 thru MTR subway. Took Jap set lunch. Marga joined us later. She looked better after feet massage. Reflexology. Hope she will act later & can make it.

Went to Megabox with Agnes, Patrick & Marina. YM was sick. Could not join us. We took free shuttle from Kln Bay MTR station. 13th floor - The Banqueting Rest. for dimsum. $100 each. Then badminton for one hour. Then tea.

I visited Gungung at UCH. Bought a cheese/ham sandwich for him.

Dinner at Cambo Thai Rest. at Nga Tsin Long Road with A & 2 girls.

Heard that Ex has divorced for the second time and will marry for the third time. Felt like vomitting for hours. I wish I had never met him.

10th anniversary of handover

I toured around at Park Island & the old pier of Ma Wan with Chu & his wife. Very adventurous for me. Lots of graves seen. Chus are quite used to such as they grew up in Cheung Chau. Hills and graves everywhere near their houses.

Ate near the pier of Park Island - set lunch. I had beef steak w/rice, vege soup & iced lemon tea. There is a ParknShop & several club houses. Good for retirees and those who enjoy rural life. No private cars allowed. Environmentally clean. Then we took ferry to Central connecting to IFC. I returned home.

Min ate ribs w/rice.

YM has fallen sick. He cannot join us tomorrow. What a pity! His frequent discomforts worry me. Perhaps he works too hard.

Will go to Porpor's place for dinner. Too meaty. Jerry tel. Probably he was in transit to US for business trip.

A very quiet Saturday. Went to see "Eye in the Sky" at APM Palace. Yam & Leung Kar-fai are really 1st class actors. Simple plot but all starry performance.

Suen's farewell dinner tomorrow evening. He will spend all the time talking about his wife. His wife is supreme. He gives her all his money. He holds her hand in our company. He is his godess or queen. What a wonder woman!

I bought them fruits for the afternoon meeting. Suen is missing the work.

I will retire very soon, too. Time after 2000 runs particularly fast. One after the other. There will come my turn. I will feel more lonely after Min leaves for UK.

I have to tune my emotions well. Otherwise, I may be getting close to depression. Mental illness is not uncommon in citites. Must protect myself.

Yesterday, I had lunch, afternoon tea & dinner at Kingsui's home with Helen & Christina. Lost $320.00. The TV kept broadcasting Donald Tsang's new cabinet. Kingsui gave us lots & lots of delicious food, like baked salty chicken, braised abalone with cabbages, fish & soup w/radish + beef brisket.

Lorraine & the 2 boys left by 11:30 am plane.

All our girls study in UK. Many exchanges. I will buy quite a long list for Min.

She wanted to go to HungHom for Wing Lai Yuen - Shanghai darm darm noodles today.

I am more relieved now as she has finished all her HKCEE, got the visa for 2 years, engaged a guardian, booked the air-tickets and hotels. I have had tension during the past 3 months terribly.

I am probably undergoing a physical stage that needs special care. I think I will consult doctor later.

Yesterday, went to the British Consulate in the morning. Lunch with Lorraine, 3 boys (including Kevin) & Min in Peking Rest. We took Peking duck, xiao long bao, knuckles, egg white w/conpoy, turnip cakes etc.

Then, I joined Melody, Deneb & Elaine for another lunch in Victoria City Rest. Louisa, Alice & V. So could not come.

Went back in the afternoon & worked a short while. Collected Min's passport with student visa granted up to 31/10/09. Enough for her to stay until her gets admission into U. Relieved. Will buy her a luggage bag later. Then, all settled.

Celebration Party from 5 to 6 pm. Went to Ah Xing from 7-8 pm. Browsed around in the Great with Lorraine & 2 boys. Dinner at SheungHing - 10 of us - until 10:45 pm. Soy goose w/liver, satay beef, intestines, chiu chow noodles w/soy & white sugar, cold crabs, oysters porridge and omlette etc.

I will go to Kingsui's home to play mj today. Lorraine will leave in the morning. She gives money for Min to buy a laptop for use in UK. Van will buy her a pink game boy.

This time in Happy Valley, the old shop. Choy sum, vermicelli rolls with fried dough & pig's liver. Fried noodles with beaten eggs + beef slices. Fish skin. Yummy yummy.

Lorraine brought the 2 boys to APM. She visited Sogo & Telford shopping arcade.

Min did not go to the French lesson but movie. When will she be more disciplined? Did not inform me about any of her programmes. Inconsiderate.

Lunch at Zen with Lorraine & Ella. Disappointed that the boys did not turn up. Ordered a table near the glass wall for viewing the square and potted rice w/beef, conpoy + egg. Brought back for them to take as dinner.

Bought a tee & a pr of pink jeans from Mrs Chan, North Point. Ella bought some & Lorraine bought 4 tees & a pr of black jeans w/crystal beads. I liked a few more items but stopped myself from buying. Should not spend so much.

Sent Min to True Light Middle School, Tai Hang Road for English oral exam. All finished. She regretted that she should have performed better. Wait until the results come.

Went to Stella for pedicure. She is a sweet & plump woman of fifties. Jolly, talkative & tough.

Dragon Boat Festival

Real hot. I went to the Ocean Park with Lorraine & the 2 boys. No interest in the mechanical games. Only Tower & Atoll Reef & the cable car. Walked around. Nice to breathe fresh open air. Not crowded.

Then Tasty Wonton (Jeng Dao, Happy Valley) in IFC. We ate too much. Very greedy as to try as many as possible.

Marga's place for dinner. Food ordered. Kevin can fry wonderful beef steaks. Min went to A's home for the Festival.

Stomach ache in the midnight, probably due to eating too much.

Zen lunch

YM is forever the gentleman. I know I will be missing him very very much. We had lunch together. Life is easier with nice pals around - generous, polite, good-natured & helpful.

Judy is back. I enjoy her company, too. Similar age, work experience & taste for many things ......

Lorraine would stay with Gungung & Porpor in KT. So we had dinner at our home.

Min likes the nachos with cheese dip so much.

I am indebted to Agnes for all she did to me. Ah Chuen, too. Still remains nice despite some unhappy incident took place.

80th birthday

It is Pa's 80th birthday and the Father's Day & we pre-celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival. Triple happiness & multiplied by the presence of Lorraine, Wenjun +Wenxi. Wenxi is tall, about 5' 8" at the age of 14. They bought Red Hot Chilli Pepper, Mae & sth from HMV. Lorraine bought a cashmere grey scarf for Min.

We had dimsum at Good Luck Rest, Empire Centre, TST East. Then Park Lane - Le Saunda - 3 prs of shoes.

A bought a dozen of longevity buns from East Ocean for Pa.

Took 1A bus from TST to KT. Touring along.

A happy dinner gathering. I met Anson Mak Ka-hei, a handsome & polite boy.

Kwongloi wrote a long email. I am thinking how to reply all his questions. It's true. A bit personal.

I like communicating with Rosana by writing than talking. She is more articulated by letters and more blunt in conversations.

Lorraine & Wenjun/Wenxi have come to stay in Marga's place. A joyous dinner.

Rosana sent along video clips re a 4-fingered Koreanan girl pianist & an armless woman in China. They both struggle hard & can perform better than many others. Yet, I feel sorry for them & their families.

Thursday & Friday

Agnes gave me half of her lunch box - rice w/cod & cabbages. We shared a shrimp roe noodle w/conpoy. Allen gave us 2 goose wings & 2 pcs of beef brisket w/soy. Thursday - meeting in the morning & afternoon. Med appt - everything fine & normal. Will go to UCH for ultra-sound gall-bladder as safety measure. Eastern Hosp. - 13/12. Dinner with Memory, Suen to celebrate Siu Chu's b/day at Prince Edward. Bought Chu 5 prs of socks as present. I bought a twin set - green - from Wing On for myself.

Friday - Lunch at Man Ho with Tam & Agnes. Delicious. Very relaxing environment. Min visited my office after her French lesson. Bought Mrs Fields cookies + muffins. Dinner at Wanya, Central with Pau, A, Van & Min. Marga was caught by an urgent meeting from 7:30 pm to 9:10 pm. Did not come as the rest had the last order at 10 pm. Too much hurry to have 30 mins - wasting money.

Very comfortable this morning. No work. Lorraine & 2 boys will arrive in the evening. We will dine at Marga's place.

Min would like to have a movie in the afternoon.

Pamela Stevens will be her guardian. A very good choice.

deep-fried fish

Recently, my taste for food has changed a bit. For example, I had deep-fried fish for breakfast & boiled bitter gourd for lunch.

Regular lunch at Wanchai. 3 retirees joined. Grudges seemed softened. Anyway, nice to chat together. Blah Blah Blah!

Yvonne said they had 4 new mothers who requested for a place to squeeze milk for reserve to feed their respective babies.

Martin came to visit us. He is looking for a job.

Min is greatly interested in learning French.

charm or drunk?

Am I charming or was the Japanese drunk? He kept on saying I am kawaii & ho leng & duck yee. He asked about my age & how many boys/girls do I have. He asked me to visit him in the shop and talk to him often.

I was so scared that I hurried to check the bill. I don't know what his fokis think nor other customers. Perhaps they thought he was only befriending a customer.

He told me he had a grandma aged 118. 3 daughters.

I had a beef steak in apple sauce & Van had sukiyaki. We shared a board of uni. It is a pity that I would not go there for a certain time to avoid embarassment.

Arranged a farewell dinner for G & YF on 11/7 and a dinner for G on 13/7. Before that, we will farewell Suen on 29/6. So many good-byes. I feel strongly about the departure, retirement, old age & sickness ..........

I must love all the more while I can.

I did not see Ocean's 11 but this time I have gone to see 13. AMC Festival Walk. All handsome faces & cool guys. Smart games. Geroge Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Al Pacino .........

Coloured my hair as the whites are coming out. Visisted Porpor for dinner.

Min started her French lessons today. 2-4 pm for 20 sessions at Wanchai. Hope she can gain from it.

Brought Michelle to Dr Tong. $1,000.00. Glad that he had liaised with Dr Lui in QEH. They will have a joint treatment plan and surgery.

Went to Yunmei Japan. We ate 3 toro sushi, one beef rolls and one grilled daily fish - today a snapper. Coffee & tofu ice-cream.

Then we bought a pr of sandals from Le Saunda. Blue with floral pattern. Min insisted I changed my beige one at once.

Bought 2 dumplings & herbal jellies to Su Chong's home. Played mj with Fu & Daniel. Won $590.00. How wonderful. I seldom win. Taxi home with Fu.

A bought me some ham & white truffle pate. They had pizza at home for dinner.

Hope the weather is fine tomorrow so that I can take a walk in the park. Will colour treat my hair. Too many whites appearing.

Bought 2 sets of meal from the Great - 1 rice w/ham and 1 rice w/roast chicken + grilled vege. I like the bell peppers and zucchini. Shared with Estella in the office for lunch.
Settled all the travel bookings.
Xiao Nan Guo for dinner before the concert. With the Pau family of 3.
Marga was unhappy with the app. report. She said it was the worst she has ever received.
Must maintain composure. No need to be hurt any further. Another director is offering another acting appointment for her. Wait & see.

So hot & sticky. Had a tea with Patrick in Cafe de Coral Wanchai. Worked until dinner at Super Star with Tam & Patrick.

One Harbour Road in Grand Hyatt Hotel. Body guard & 2 G4 men.

a hot Sunday

It is so hot. Nita got a big box for despatch to the Philippines. We give her many unwanted items. She likes them all. Clothes, shoes, electricals, stationery, books, old or new and many other sundries.

Van got 7 tees from Dymocks. - 40% off. She is so pleased and wears one today. A & she will go to visit Porpor and dine in her flat. Porpor will be so happy.

Many activities in APM. A landmark in KT.

Vista is good-looking.

I will meet Patrick at 3 pm at Wanchai.

a chat with Min

Nice to have a chat with Min. She is maturer than I notice. Children grow day by day. She enjoys music and singing.

She has shared with me some of her thoughts that I find inspiring.

Quite tense to prepare for a week's reception & hotline tasks. Keep my fingers cross that everything should go smoothly. Events are always exciting & bring along tension.

Co-op amongst so many people to serve another so many people from different cultures is really challenging. Different points of views and countless communication and thousand changes just drive one mad.

Glad to hear Wenxi on phone. Exactly like that of Wenbang. No longer baby or girlish.

Went to Shamshuipo to order for name tapes for Min - $300.00 for 50 doz. White tapes with black words. She does not like blue, pink, brown or purple. So hot & dusty. Then went to Haven of Hope to visit Gungung. Poor airpipes. Porpor cooked rice for him. Criticism as at home, salty, too chunky, too what what what .... Tremendous patience from Porpor. Great love is sometimes in the form of smile with tolerence.

Min went back to school for graduation ceremonies. Hot-pot with school mates in San Po Kong.

Dry clean for winter clothes so costly.

Last evening, I told Hou Laushi to be the last lesson of PTH. I am not sure when we will employ her again. I gave her a used handbag - Nina Rici - brown leather. She is fond of it.
