i can choose

to ignore to anticipate to adjust to detach to accept to tolerate to relax to be happy to be angry to be indifferent ..............to enjoy to forget to remember to learn to unlearn

hi

i have entertined my guests in style

I have bought a tea set for 6 and a dining set for 4 of the same pattern - Dynasty bone china - with orange orchids & butterflies. Stainless steel cutlery. All of us were so pleased, including Nita. So much excitement & fun, like children playing new toys.

We had mj on the new table. Christina brought along 3 cheese cakes - 1 big to be shared and 2 for kingsui & Helen to bring home.

I have seen the documentary about "The King's Speech". Even the King was but a man with limitations and challenges that he feared to face. Everybody has a cross to carry.

We are old friends who accept each other as we are. No more no less. Need not change and we cannot if we had wished to. Yes, love me as what I am.

an adorable brave little girl

I am so touched seeing her going to school, wearing school uniform, carrying a school bag and obeying the teachers' guidance, waiving her tiny hand to bid good-bye. No more crying ...........

She uses her fingers to indicate the shape of a triangle. She can sing "London Bridge is Falling Down" and "I am a big Apple". She likes the stories about Clifford.

No cause to complain despite all the ups and downs in life.

Moses Pendleton

Pendleton has been one of America's most innovative and widely performed choreographers and directors for over 40 years.

Unique lighting and simple props. Magically expand the movement potential of the human body. They dance not only as humans but as birds, flowers or parts of a lizard, creating optical illusions and optical confusions.

They strive to energizse, inspire and leave a lightness in the step of the audience. Done.

Had dinner with Phoebe at Thai Basil. She is a very good companion for the arts programmes.

salad for lunch & banana cake after dinner

I had half a bacon salad at Pizza Express next to PP3 for lunch.

The banana cakes that Van made for us as dessert were really yummy. Anise liked it so much.

Sweetie sleep. That eases all my worries for the day.

Talked to Min just now. She is busy all over. Wish she would treasure such amazing times in life.

What Constitutes Success

Bessie Stanley

"He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction."

a rest day

A day of good rest. Sleep sleep sleep.

Megabox for dinner - celebration.

Thankful for everything!

When Pa talked about the Japanese occupation and the cruelty, he recalled the painful experiences. So some old people would not sympathize with the Japanese for the earthquake incident. They called it revenge by fate.

Le Mieux Bistro

Fine dining with very reasonable price.

What we see the world

is more important than how the world is.

What is the shape of the world. What condition is it in?

Scientists, philosphers and kings could offer a never-ending debate on the question. But there is no real grade for the world apart from the one you assign it.

I had a medical check today. Report was fine.

But I have caught a cold. Poor me!

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Be calm and enjoy what you have today and this moment.

Consider yourself to be lucky and develop yourself.

Everybody is lonely sometimes. Some wise man calls it solitude.

We get lost in noises. So it is nice to be alone every now and then and listen to your heart. Recharge yourself by retreat.

Strength comes after exercises and tests.

I am beside you whenever however whatever and wherever.

Even the man who loves you most wishes you to stand on your own. His shoulders are your bonus not your basic support. Independent women are beautiful women. Gain sufficient knowledge and money to preserve a decent livelihood.

The King's Speech

The movie was splendid. The piece of sad history is about King George VI who found difficulties in making public speeches. He was a King, the accidental one and the reluctant one and the hesitant one. So challenging with World War II right before him once he stepped onto the throne. He had to overcome stammering and he had to go through the war. Like any common man, he had no choice with family members. He had to work hard to sustain a livelihood. He was lucky to have a supportive wife and a friend/teacher to face the pressure together. He made it at last.

Colin Firth Geoffrey Rush Helena Bonham Carter

The role of Churchill was not well played. Should be far more impressive.

puppet on the strings

A marionette is a puppet controlled from above using wires or strings. A marionette's puppeteer is called a manipulator.
Puppetry is an ancient form of performance.
Is life but a marionette opera?

another incident of horror at mtr

I got off the train and walked towards the end of the platform. Then I heard a big bang. I thought it was someone's suitcase had struck against the closing train door during a last rush in. I saw 2 men standing there where the loud sound came from. Then one of them cursed fiercely. I moved along aiming to turn to the corner for the escalators. Suddenly, that apparently mad man took up a waste papers recycle bin and threw it onto the ground within a split of a second. The glass panel broke into hundreds of small bits which were but one foot away from me. What if? ............ I had walked nearer? ........... He had thrown it my direction with glasses dropping from height as he held it high?

Life is so unpredictable. OMG! Pressure kills people. Pressure brings along illnesses.

let the bad guys vanish
