Tuesday lunch - with W & B. Dinner at Festival Walk with Mrs Li, Alice, Anne, Berider & Christina. Anne is suffering from back pain. She is as odd as ever. Grace could not come.

Wednesday - visit to HK Intl Airport - HKIA history & development of avaiation, service initiative, regional hub, daily operation & crisis management. Bird's eye view over the Airport Island at SkyDeck Skycity. Boarded AA vehicles for airside tour. Tour of Integrated Airport Centre and Apron (New North Satellite Concourse & T-stand).

Lunch with the usual group at Wanchai and dinner at Lippo.

A returns from Singapore. Van gave me some gift certs to purchase in Sogo. Min will go to a concert in the Airport Expo tmr evening.

Keep on drinking dark thick liquid called herb tea. Wow!

It is worthwhile. It is interesting to hear him from his perspectives.

Someone always says it is a waste of time as if his time is very precious & well spent and I am foolish and have nothing bettter to do. Another will think I am inviting trouble by being so responsive to staff.

I believe it is part of my duties to talk & listen to colleagues. Quite a substantial number of people die coz when they have anxieties or grievances, those around them are cold, indifferent, shy away and pretend they don't know or they just don't care. Some even tease and say they deserve it. That is the cruelty of this world.

Lunch with Van. She almost cookes everyday. She complains about the rising pices of beef & fruits etc. So she has become a housewife. More housewife than her Mom. She likes the tiny white cardigan I bought for her.

Don't go to ROKA. Terribly expensive. Not value for money. Food just so-so. Seats not particularly comfortable. Glass panels - too exposed, unless you enjoy being seen while eating.

Min has been granted a visa. But she does not know how long the period will be. Anyway, her passport will be sent back within a few days' time.

Stayed in QEH until mid morning. I pray very hard for Min's successful surgery.

Had lunch with Min. We talked a lot. I am glad that she appreciates my efforts in keeping her happy. She asked whether she has become more fierce. I said "no". She has become more confident and assertive.

Kwong wrote about his promotion. Wherever he is, he displays his intelligence and hard work.

The house is clean and I have dinner at home with monkey head soup. So comforting.

Pingpong at Victoria Park. Coach Wu has got hold of time slots for us. Marga & I had congee. Then she bought a Fila bag in Sogo for her Yoga class at World Trade Centre.

I bought a top and a white short cardigan for Van.

Saw Batman - The Dark Knight with Min at APM Palace. Min likes most of the dialogues in the film. She likes Morgan Freeman. Dinner at Porpor's home.

Nita has returned. She is the Director of Nutrition and Environmental Fitness in the house. She is the security guard and the communication centre, too. Welcome home.

I will go to QEH with Min tmr morning. Pray for the best of luck!

no earthquake in the philippines

Min told me a famous prophet announced that there would be a deadly earthquake in the Phillippines on 18th July which was yesterday. She was very worried about Nita. She did not want Nita to die. We need her in the house, she said. I agreed.

Worked in the morning today. Had a bowl of Vietnamese beef soup with noodles. Good taste. Alone in Wanchai. A bowl of vegetables in superior soup. The boss is polite to customers but bad mannered to his wife who serves as the shop assistant. He spoke Putonghua. He must have come from the Mainland.

Afternoon at McCafe. Lemon lamington and blueberry muffin. Latte & earl grey. Everything is so convenient in HK.

Min went to a ball in a boys' school. She has grown up.

I enjoyed the workshop - people-oriented. I get close to my grade members. We had lunch together. I bought a grey top and a pr of black leggings for Van.

Had my hair trimmed at Charisma by Jo. He thought George had over-permed my hair. They never like their peers. Spiteful. Dinner at Kln Bay with Min - Deli Viet.

Friday - lunch with Marga & 2 girls. I gave back the tiny diamond ear-rings to Marga. Min presented her birthday gift. She will go to live band show tonight. She will go to a ball in Saturday evening. She has grown up.

I had dinner with Ju at Fish Bar. At the open space at the poolside. We agreed that we must love and treat ourselves well. I liked the berries pudding.

I came home and cleaned the floor. Household chores are never ending like office work. Life is a series of doing this and that.

The autumn term school bill has arrived. I have no choice but keep on earning for the settlement of so many bills. I have only ads and bills in my letter box. When can I have a letter? A personal one?

A lonely dinner at Fairwood downstairs. Min & her friends had McDonald's. I ate by myself - a dish of rice with curry beef brisket. Some potatoes. Last order. Very shabby feeling. I like to have companions.

I will go to Quarry Bay tmr for the whole day.

Laundry counter woman not polite - cold & indifferent. Every time it is I who says "thank you". But I don't really care. That is why she is there and I am where I am.

Marga will probably go to Beijing in October. Hope she would enjoy the trip.

I went to buy a pair of Bally shoes in Festival Walk yesterday after work. No comparable. So I have to watch out for the sale. Always black and traditional style. But comfortable & appropriate.

I am wearing the ear-rings of the tiny diamonds. I decide to take it from Marga. Never tired of owning diamonds. And wearing them in different settings.

Min starts to clear up old stuffs. A good start.

My coughing is getting better but not totally recovered yet.

Dinner with Min & Karin. Karin will go to study in LA after summer. Her elder sister in US, too. But a bit far away. Charmaine in Switzerland and Axelle in Paris. Min has an international network.

She admires men of attainments. Just wish that she will meet someone of high standard. Interesting to learn that she has to do kitchen duties in Kent. She knows she has to adapt to the environment for a better living.

She bought "Nothing to lose" by Lee Child as a birthday present for Uncle.

Told that KMing has suffered a stroke yesterday. Poor guy.

Irene has returned from her cruise & trip for the midnight sun. Today is her birthday. I have bought a tennis racket bag - limited edition by Prince with golden coloured leather - specially designed to sponsor Maria Sharapova. She is a Russian beauty who wins fame & glory in Wimbledon and the world. There is an intial "S" on the bag.

That describes my life during the past week.

Porpor came yesterday to do some cleaning for me. We went to 8th Happiness in Kai Tin to have dinner.

Min had 2 friends watching DVD this evening. I bought them noodles.

She went to Dr Tong this afternoon. She will go again tmr, both Dr Tam & Dr Tong.

Lorraine flew to India & Jerry Switzerland. Only Wenjun & Wenxi stay at home.

Eventually, I know who bought her the perfume. It is she who bought it for herself and the money is mine.

I met a very very poor girl today after work in the MTR train. She has serious skin problem. She wore a jacket with a hood. I saw her face and hands. I wanted to cry. I felt very painful. She avoided people by sitting on the train floor at the end corner. She played computer games. It meant she is at least with normal intelligence. That is sadder?

My mood has been down for the whole evening. I told Lorraine about this. I am scared and feel much much pain for her and her parents.

Tiring work. Brought clothes to the laundry. Bought stuffs from supermarket.

The only good memory is I had lunch with my 2 daughters.

Rainstorm again.

With Min at home, I will never be idle. She either keeps talking to me, asserting her own ideas or listens to music or watching "Friends" and laughs. You will feel her presence everywhere, every minute. She cooks and leaves the kitchen with cooking utensils to be cleaned. She picks clothes and touches on all items. She puts on make-up and you will know there is such a great range of nail polish and face powder.

Children keep us useful and youthful. Fighting over ideas, habits & spending pattern and studying pattern .............So energizing! She does not tell you "secrets". I just notice there is a bottle of perfume on the table. From whom?

Merry mood. There must be huge efforts & input by some Chinese who know Kung Fu and the ancient architecture etc.

No appetite for dinner. Home alone.
